special memories / stories
Daisy's most impressive trick was learning to say all our names and using them appropriately when she wanted attention. She developed a friendship with our neighbor's cat through the window - they would 'chat' every afternoon, Daisy chirping and the cat meowing back. During Christmas, she learned to sing snippets of carols, becoming our unexpected holiday entertainment. One summer, she managed to unlock her cage (we still don't know how) and flew to the highest curtain rod, looking tremendously pleased with herself.
obituary
Daisy filled our home with color, music, and joy for nine wonderful years. Her vibrant plumage was matched only by her vibrant personality - she could mimic everything from the doorbell to our laughter. Daisy wasn't just a bird; she was a member of our family, a tiny comedian who knew how to lighten any mood. She had a morning routine of greeting the sunrise with cheerful songs and an evening ritual of saying 'Goodnight, Daisy' to each family member. Her accidental passing has silenced the music in our home, but her melodies continue in our memories. Daisy taught us that happiness can come in small packages and that every creature has something unique to contribute. She may have had wings, but she was firmly grounded in our hearts.
