special memories / stories
Otis had a hilarious habit of 'talking back' - he would make a range of grumbles, woofs, and howls in response to our conversations as if participating. He discovered that he could create dramatic echoes in our stairwell and would howl there just to hear his voice bounce back. During snowstorms, he became a different dog entirely, leaping and bounding like a pup regardless of his age. One of our favorite memories is how he would 'herd' us together for family time, gently nudging everyone into the living room in the evenings.
obituary
Otis was a Husky mix with the soul of a wolf and the heart of a puppy. His striking blue eyes and dramatic howls made him impossible to ignore, but it was his joyful spirit that truly captured our hearts. Otis didn't just live in our home; he brought the wilderness inside with him, reminding us daily of nature's beauty and freedom. He loved Manchester's rainy weather, dancing in puddles with pure abandon and howling along with strong winds. His sudden illness came as a shock, taking from us a dog who seemed to embody life itself. The silence he leaves behind is deafening. Otis taught us to embrace the weather, to sing when the mood strikes, and to find joy in every moment. He was more than a pet; he was a force of nature who brightened our world.
